When this church started a year ago, I received an invite for a radio interview on CBC, and I suddenly realized how unprepared I was. One of the many things I had not done yet was set up a website, so I hurriedly cobbled together a DjangoCMS website and uploaded it to my hosting provider.
Since that time, I've made a couple of changes to the CMS, and managed to lose the ability to edit things in the interface. For the most part, I just put some generic placeholder text up on the www.calgarysecularchurch.org website and pointed people to the Facebook page, where most of our activity took place. This let me have a "web presence" of sorts, but freed me from the task of updating the website I had broken.
In any case, this hasn't worked very well, mainly because it looks shabby and unprofessional, but also because a lot of people aren't willing to participate on the Facebook group. It turns out Facebook is really REALLY good at telling everyone else what you're doing, even if you don't want that thing broadcasted to all your friends and family.
So I'm attempting a reboot of the original website. I'm basing it on a Blogger page, and will point to its articles from the Facebook page. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Oh, and welcome!
